Channahon United Methodist Church working in the Northern Illinois Conference, has made a commitment to support local, regional and international mission projects and ministries through the UMC Rainbow Covenant.  This means we fully participate in the mission and ministry of the Northern Illinois Conference through 100% apportionment giving. We commit to giving in order that we can be in mission with our local community and to the world. Through apportionments, our giving is extended to vital ministries across the Conference and around the world.  In addition, CUMC each month participates in giving to the Advance. Started in 1948, the Advance is the United Methodist program for voluntary, designated mission giving. And because of church’s support of the apportionment that underwrites administrative costs, 100% of all gifts through the Advance go directly to the mission or project!

CUMC also offers opportunities to support local ministries, such as: Daybreak Homeless Shelter, area food pantries, mission trips, habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Senior Luncheons, Blood Drives, TOPS, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Narcotics Anonymous.
