How Do I Meet People?

Channahon United Methodist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Channahon United Methodist Church.

Small Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, CUMC has many small group opportunities for all ages.

Sunday School Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Some of class time for children from preschool-3rd grade includes participation each week in our children’s choir which sings every three months at our 9:00am service.

Children

Whether it’s the Creation story, David & Goliath or the birth of Jesus, the bible is filled with fascinating stories for young children to learn and then use in their present day lives.  CUMC gives children the opportunity to join in a multi-age class to look deeper into the bible stories using a variety of learning techniques.  (See more information under the Children & Youth Section.)

Youth

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into youthhood. There are more independent decisions. More pressure. Relationships. And a whole lot more stress. The youth group of CUMC provides a welcoming atmosphere for 6th graders through high schoolers.  (See more information under the Children & Youth Section.)

United Women in Faith

Channahon United Women in Faith gives the women in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Breakfast

The 2nd Saturday of each month at Grandma’s in Minooka, the men of CUMC meet at a local restaurant for breakfast and fellowship.

Choir

Meets each Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Contact Brittany Alcantar at balcantar05@yahoo.com or the church office for more information.
